Musings

For me, my blog is something that is always there... somewhere that I can share my thoughts, family news and pictures, hopes, joys and dreams. I love having a record of what is going on in my life. One day I can look at a picture and say "I remember where that was taken". Something I would never remember otherwise. I love being able to share also what God has been doing in my life and different scripture verses that He has revealed to me.

Today my new laptop arrived in the mail! It will be great to have all my pictures and music together on the same computer. It will also add ease to blogging... being able to say things as they come to mind.

I love blogging... can you tell? (smile)

My life the past few months has been busy with work. I am working just over part time now since my boss has been slowly returning to work after the birth of her second little girl. I am continuing to enjoy learning new things about the health food business.

I have been spending a fair bit of time looking for and praying about College and University opportunities.. wow there are alot of options out there... I think this fall I will be continuing to live at home while going to school somewhere in Ottawa or taking an online course while still working. I have looked into nutrition but I am also looking into business as well. So many decisions! Your prayers would be kindly appreciated.

Well, I don't know about ya'll but I can't wait for spring to come! I can already smell the air after the first grass cutting, the smell of burgers grilling on the BBQ and driving to work with the windows down... hair blowing in the breeze... summer is the best!

It is "sapposed" to warm up the next few days according to the weather man... that would be great for all our friends and neighbours tapping trees for syrup!

What are you all up to this week? Wishing you a joy filled one!

Blessings,
Erin

Spring is in the air... or is it Snow?

All at once, one day, it's spring...

- "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers"

Yesterday was the first day of spring...absolutely beautiful... today, well so far 3-4 inches of snow! I went and looked after Alexia at her house for a couple of hours today while her Mom had an appointment... we made a snowman together!

A Week Of Joy And Sadness

40 days of Lent officially started on Ash Wednesday. Andy's funeral that day made Lent seem more real. Dying to ourselves. Alive in Christ! Our church had an Ash Wednesday Mass in the evening. Dad was travelling from Windsor to Toronto that night. He stopped at the cathedral in London for Mass. We are glad to have him home!

My cousin Mary (blue coat) called on Thursday to see if I could visit on Friday. We spent most of the day together and then had supper with Aunt Gwen, Uncle Robin, Mary and Leah. It's great to have them here. Dad picked me up on his way home from Toronto... well kinda on the way home...

Mom, Shawn and I are part of an initiative in our Parish to get the children, youth and young adult ministries planted with a solid base. Shawn and I were at a youth leader and youth workshop in the city last night. We met some great people there. It was nice to hear different ideas and what works in the nearby Parishes. Dad's head of the Property Committee at church. The plans are moving forward to address the office and rectory needs and the washrooms in the church. These are big building projects that they are hoping to have completed by the fall.

We all miss having little Alexia at our house during the week... Please pray for her Mom, Leah, as she is due to have another baby in the next week or so.

My Week So Far...

Scott had his wisdom teeth out last Monday, seemed to be doing fine and then the pain got a lot worse. He is better now though still not back to normal. He could use your prayers.

Yesterday Shawn and I went down to Ogdensburg NY to pick up the skirts that I had ordered. They fit nicely. I love all the different colors. One in particular I really love is a jean skirt that falls right down to my ankles. I love wearing really long skirts.

We have been getting a lot of freezing rain/light snow since last night. Not very nice but.... almost all of our snow is gone now and it's not even April yet! We might even have some flowers up by Easter!

I have been busy getting ready to leave for NY on Monday. I still have all of my clothes to get ready. I was talking to Caroline today and got my last few questions answered so now all I have to do is pack! (she is my friend that I am going to be seeing down there).

I am going to be pretty busy the next few days getting ready to go as well as other things going on so you might not be hearing too much from me....but there will be some nice long posts when I get back. With pictures!

I THINK SPRING IS ALMOST HERE !!!

What beautiful weather the LORD has given us the last few days! When my family and I were at church today the first spring buds where coming out in the flower beds :)

My brother Shawn and I went back into town today after we had lunch and went for a nice, long walk with our golden retriever, Ralph. Ralph had a wonderful time with us. He always seems a bit worried when we first set out, then relaxes after we pass "the exits" to the groomers and the vets!

I have been busy getting ready to go to NY the last week. I got a pretty suitcase that has blue flowers on it (hopefully the little matching carry-on that we ordered will get here on time!)

Monday is going to be a busy day :) I need to wash and carton eggs for my customers as well as school work and some baking for the boys.

I think the chickens can hardly wait for spring to come! I have 21 birds but I only am getting about 16 eggs a day...I need to have a talk with them!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :)

Blessings,

Erin

"You have to believe in happiness,
Or happiness never comes...
Oh, that's the reason a bird can sing-
On his darkest day he believes in Spring."
