A Letter From My Mother

8 years ago Mom gave me a letter. It was on the day that we went to see "Anne of Green Gables the musical" at Centerpointe Theater in Ottawa. The letter has meant alot to me over the past 8 years. I wanted to share some excerpts of the letter with you.

Dear Erin Sarah Deanna, April 30, 2003

I love you. I am thankful for the time here with you today at "Anne of Green Gables" More then the play - I am glad to be here with you! I can't think of another woman or girl I'd rather be here with.

I look so forward to our years together as your father and I teach and train you... "That our daughters may be as cornerstones, polished after the similitude of a palace" (Psalm 144:12)

It will be very rewarding to learn with you as we train you in the ways of the Lord. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God" (1 Cor. 3:19a)

May the Lord bless you and keep you my dear daughter. I love you. "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain - but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised".

Holy Week

The Easter Triduum started last night with Holy Thursday. During the service we were celebrating the last supper and the washing of the feet.

This is my body, which is given for you, do this in memory of me.

- Luke 22:19
All the churches in Almonte were part of "walk of the cross" through town starting at 12:00 noon today. The walk ended at our church. We went inside for a message from Father Lindsay and some singing.

Good Friday - Our Lord's Passion. A solemn Mass was at 3pm today after the walk of the cross.

"Father, into your hands I place my spirit".

- Luke 23:46

We look forward to the Easter Vigil at 8pm tomorrow. We will celebrate our Risen Lord!

"And He departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him. For He departed, and behold, He is here."

- Saint Augustine

Usually, we go to Sunday Mass on Easter Sunday but this year we are going to visit Cedarview Alliance in Barrhaven. It's the church were my Uncle is now the pastor. We haven't been before so we are looking forward to going.

Palm Sunday and The Past Couple of Days

Today is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week. It was a beautiful Mass today. At the beginning of the service Father Lindsay had us all come to the back of the Church for the Blessing of the palms before distributing them.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

1 Peter 1:3

Work has been going very well. I have been working 2 days a week for the past month now. I am working 3 days this week. I am really enjoying working at The Granary... there is always something new to learn!

My cousin Mary picked me up from work on Friday... we went out for dinner and I spent the night with her at their house in Barrhaven as her family was away for the night. It's so nice having them closeby...

We watched the film "Tangled" together... If you love all the Disney princess films you will enjoy "Tangled".

Scott finished his final exam on Friday. He came home for a few days this weekend. He will need to go back for a few days to do his music jury on April 26th. Please pray that it goes well.

Also, if you could please pray for me on Wednesday morning as I take my G2 road test.

Have a great week everyone! God bless.

Psalm 27:4-5

"One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling, he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock."

Psalm 27:4-5

Alexia

Six little ducks
That I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones,
Fair ones, too
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Down to the river
They would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
To and fro
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Back from the river
They would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
Ho, hum, hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Into the water they would dive
Over and under the other five
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Home from the river they would g0
Wibble wobble, wibble wobble,
Ho hum hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Our time with Alexia is going well, she is so cute and fun to be with. She is also a very busy little person which is why my blog has become so silent! She loves ducks which is why Mom and I picked this fun song to include with her pictures. Have a wonderful week everyone! God Bless.

Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Luke 18:15-17
