Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers! I thought this little cartoon was cute, out of the mouth of babes....

I love everything about fall (except all the excessive rain that we have been having) and this Thanksgiving weekend has been absolutely beautiful! We had a few things happening this weekend, first a wedding...

Mom and Dad heading to the wedding

The happy couple, Deanna and Jon

Scott came home on Saturday for the weekend. Here we are taking our yearly family picture. We all got along wonderfully this year. Some years it has not gone so well...

The 3 kids

We had our dinner yesterday at Nana's and Papa's house. We made stuffing, potatoes and cranberry sauce to take. Friends of ours came out for dinner. Here in order is - Elisa, Scott, Me, Chris, Jared and Shawn in front. Their Mom came too but there Dad was away for the weekend. It was a joy to have them!

At Nana and Papa's later in the evening during a game of "Apples to Apples".

A Wedding Shower for Deanna

This past Sunday Mom and I along with dear friends Margaret and her daughter Mary-Beth held a shower for Deanna. We have known both of their families for years so it was nice to be a part of this special time for Deanna and Jon. There were about 21 ladies in attendance. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and great to talk to some people that we had not seen for awhile! Some of the pictures were a little washed out so here are the best ones.

Both sides of the family, from L - R ~ Elise (sister of the bride), Irene (mother of the bride), Deanna (the Bride!), Shanna (sister of the bride), Vanessa and little Samuel (sister of the groom), Jenny (sister of the groom), Niki (mother of the groom)

Hope you all had a great long weekend if you are fellow Canadians!

Scott and I were hired to be servers at a wedding reception on Saturday night. We were there from 3:00 pm-12:00 am. It was really fun to be part of the behind the scenes of a wedding and great experience :). The mother of the bride was such a nice lady to work for - very generous. We came in for about five hours to help with clean-up after church on Sunday. Then we came home and went right over to Nana's and Papa's house for a nice BBQ dinner.

I made a pan of rice krispie squares yesterday :)

Last night good friends had us over for a nice BBQ at their house. We had the camera with us but only took one picture! Here is Seth, Joel and Scott. They have all played music together and all really love music so they never run out of things to talk about... I have to leave when the talk gets to technical :). Seth and I had fun playing a l o n g Chess game... I was nice and let him win. Their daughter Emily is going to be my piano teacher this year.

It was great to see all of you!

Tonight is the dress rehearsal of "The Taming Of The Shrew". Hopefully all goes well!

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Have a great week.

Dancing at the wedding....

I wanted to share a few dance pictures from the wedding last Saturday. We all had a great time in spite of the fact that no one seemed to understand the caller for square dancing as you will see in the first picture. One of the groom's six brothers in a great hat looking on.

A Wedding - Michael and Stephanie

Last night our family were able to attend the wedding of a special couple who we know. It was a wonderful day. We wish you all the best Michael and Stephanie!

The bride and groom

The bride getting ready to throw the bouquet... and I caught it! :)

The theme in their wedding was 1 Corinthians 13 - though I have previously shared it with you I thought I would share it with you all again for this occasion -

1 Corinthians 13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
