1 Rain Storm = No Internet = No Posting...

This past week has been... interesting as you can see by my post title. We had a large storm last Saturday night that took out our Internet so my blogging came to an abrupt standstill 'till yesterday.

Last Thursday night we had Scott's violin teacher Suzanne and her husband David for dinner before Scott heads off to University. It was lovely to be able to visit with them. I used to sell them eggs before I sold my chickens this past spring.


Last Friday evening Dad, Mom, Scott and I went to a piano recital of a young man whose family we have known since I was little. Wei is going off to University this fall for his second year. He gave an amazing concert!

Saturday was Mom and Dad's 28th Anniversary! This picture was taken of them before they left for the day. They had fun doing different things together and they spent the night in a nice hotel and then drove to meet us three kids at our next event...

Scott played the violin at a house concert of a retired opera singer we know who Scott has had the great pleasure of playing with over the past couple of years. Here is a fun picture of the two of them.

A Nature Walk and Tea On The Lawn

Every summer in our area during July and August we have tea on the lawn Wednesday and Saturday at a local conservation area. See the post I did about one here. Yesterday Mom was doing the tea with another lady so I thought I could go on a nice walk with Nana on one of the trails and then have tea after! What a lovely day for a walk...

"The Taming Of The Shrew"

The play went great! It was so much fun and we all had a great time. Lots of laughs. My role went very well and I could not believe how much I enjoyed it. A good experience. It was very good to be able to learn from the experienced actors and actresses. I will hopefully be getting pictures from people in the next few weeks and will post when I get some.

Caroline, Tannis, Louise and her sister Rosie all came. Nana and Papa came too. It was so nice to see you all! Caroline and Scott were playing at Caroline's church on Saturday before the play and then they played at our Mass Sunday morning. It was a special blessing. Caroline spent the night on Saturday. We had a great time together.

My Summer Days...

The weather has changed and it looks like we are going to have a nice cooler weekend.


Thursday was our last drama practice when we took apart some scenes that we found needed work from the rehearsal. Saturday is the big day! Show time :)



On Wednesday I went with Caroline to see a movie in the city and then spent the night at her house. We had a really fun time. Nice to see you Caroline! Caroline, Tannis (her Mom) and Louise (maybe her sister Rosie) are all coming for the drama performance :)


Today was spent doing some cleaning around the house and Mom and I giving my room a good cleaning. Also getting ready for tomorrow and making sure my drama lines are just right. Scott also is cleaning out the chicken coop today - a very kind gesture.

Scott and I were hired to be servers at a wedding reception on Saturday night. We were there from 3:00 pm-12:00 am. It was really fun to be part of the behind the scenes of a wedding and great experience :). The mother of the bride was such a nice lady to work for - very generous. We came in for about five hours to help with clean-up after church on Sunday. Then we came home and went right over to Nana's and Papa's house for a nice BBQ dinner.

Last night good friends had us over for a nice BBQ at their house. We had the camera with us but only took one picture! Here is Seth, Joel and Scott. They have all played music together and all really love music so they never run out of things to talk about... I have to leave when the talk gets to technical :). Seth and I had fun playing a l o n g Chess game... I was nice and let him win. Their daughter Emily is going to be my piano teacher this year.

It was great to see all of you!

Tonight is the dress rehearsal of "The Taming Of The Shrew". Hopefully all goes well!

A Visit With Louise

Louise and I had a very pleasant visit the last couple of days. It was great to see you Louise! The day that Louise came over I had a drama club meeting so she came along to watch. I got what I needed that night to finish my costume. Louise and I had fun later at home trying it on each other :)

We went to pick Louise up and on the way home Mom stopped to get some vegetables at a farm along the highway. This was a plant that was growing next to where they were selling the vegetables. Note the height!

Louise and I spent yesterday sleeping in... :) going for a walk, making a few lemon loaves (recipe will be posted soon on my recipe blog), playing some monopoly and going to the beach.

My Day

Mom and two of her dear friends went out today for some "lady/mother" time. They had a great time together.

I did some cleaning today while Mom was out :) I was vacuuming and then thought... why not scrub our main room floor? So I did and it looks great - nice and shiny! Mom was very happy (and you know when Mom is happy, everyone is happy!)

The baby birds I told you about flew away this morning. They were so big that they were almost falling out of their nest! I will miss them... not their mess though :(

Louise is coming for a visit and overnight tomorrow. We have not seen each other much since my birthday so I am really looking forward to her coming.

A Weekend Away Part #1

This weekend our whole family went to Toronto for a little family time and also to attend the wedding anniversary party of some long time friends of ours. We took two cars down so we had a "convoy" so to speak.

Dad took us to a hotel that he stays at sometimes when he does travelling for work. It was a nice spot! There was a large pool and water slide, very fun! I did not go down the water slide but Scott did. He is much braver then I...
